The Benefits of Art
For All Ages Young and Old
Individuality, a willingness to take risks, a sense of accomplishment is develped through art.
Creating Art Relieves Stress and Developes Mental Focus
Painting, sculpting, drawing, are all relaxing, lower your stress levels and leave you feeling mentally clear and calm. Creating ART provides a distraction, giving your brain a break from your usual thoughts and responsibilities. It increases the “feel good” neurotransmitter dopamine, also called the “motivation molecule”. Art requires mental focus and following directions. This stimulates your brain to grow new neurons, and in turn helps wards off depression, and protects the brain from aging.
For Toddlers and Preschoolers
Here’s how art can help your children thrive as they develop specific school readiness skills.
Pre-Writing, Language Development and Pre-Reading Skills,
Fine motor skills for printing & writing: using scissors, drawing, painting, and gluing, Strengthening hands: gripping paint brushes, crayons and opening bottles of glue. Space relationships: using shapes, lines, curves etc., needed for writing letters. Hand-eye coordination: picking up small items and gluing or stringing things together. Story Telling through pictures or art he/she created. Pictures are how we learn what words mean, not just the words on a page. ART is shapes and letters are shapes.
Encourages Problem Solving and Creative Thinking Skills
Innovative use of different materials and finding alternative approaches, when something doesn’t work out helps develop problem solving. Independent thinking and attention span, develop through consentration and deciding how and what to useArt encourages out-of-the-box creative thinking and lets you come up with your own unique solutions.
Art Boosts Self-Esteem and Provides a Sense of Accomplishment
Hanging your latest work of art on the wall can to boost self-esteem. It boosts drive and gives you that “I did it!” lift when you accomplish what you set out to do.
ART is much more than just scribbling, painting and gluing. Sign up and let ART transform YOU!!
