What are the health benefits of dance?

It's a perfect combination of physical activity, social interaction, and mental stimulation.  Dancing enhances your life in so many ways: Health, Confidence, Self-Expression, Social, Relaxation, and Fun.  When you dance, your cardiovascular system improves, your muscle tone increases and you burn calories.

Is dancing a work out?

Dancing is a whole-body workout that's actually fun.  It's good for your heart, it makes you stronger, and it will help with balance and coordination.  A 30-minute dance class burns between 130 and 250 calories, about the same as jogging.

Is dancing a cardio?

You may find it surprising to have dance listed as one of the top fat burning cardio exercises, but dancing is an excellent workout.  Whether at home dancing to your favorite tunes, or joining a dance workout class, cardio exercise is energetic, fun and effective.

Is dancing an exercise?

Dance is a great form of exercise because it provides you with both aerobic and anaerobic movements.  Our bodies need a combination of both types of exercise in order to be at their healthiest.  In dance, aerobic exercise can be achieved by jumping, swaying, twirling, etc.
